This introspective tune appears to be a love song where Gambino is assuring his girl that he's going to be in her life till the year 3005. However, the actor turned-rap buzzmaker told Fuse TV that many fans are misinterpreting the lyrics. "Everybody's like, 'It's a love song,'" Gambino said. "It's kind of an existential thing. I'm just really scared of being alone. When I was little, there was a big dog down the street. I was really scared of it. But when I was with my sister, when I knew I had to protect her, I wasn't afraid of the dog as much because somebody was there. I had a purpose... I kind of feel lost. I kind of lost that, I feel."

Gambino wrote the tune early in the morning. "All the good songs where I'm like, 'How did I even come up with that?' were probably remnants from dreams," he explained. "I feel like when you first wake up, you're still close to who you really are."

The song was released as the lead single from Because The Internet. The album revolves around a central Hip-Hop figure inspired by Rick Ross, who Gambino believes has shown the next generation how to attain great luxury via a career in rap. Except the next generation of internet rappers have too much opportunity. "People think the internet allows you to do the stuff, but no-one's doing anything," he told NME. "We have so much that we're paralyzed by it. That's what this album is about."
