Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Somewhere In Stockholm. By Songfacts®.

Swedish DJ and producer Avicii wrote this album track about his hometown of Stockholm, where he was born in 1989. The artist realizes that although he couldn't wait to escape Stockholm to find his fame and fortune in the States, there's no other place he'll call home. "Right where I was founded, is right where I'll be found dead," he vows. Avicii enlisted fellow Swede Daniel Adams-Ray, who spent part of his childhood living in a suburb of the city, to sing and rap on the track.

Avicii remembers standing on street corners listening to "Wu in my Walkman." This is a reference to the hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan (and the Walkman music player).

During the bridge, Adams-Ray sings "Hemma I Stockholm," which translates to "Home in Stockholm."
