Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about nasty. By Songfacts®.

This sexually explicit track finds Ariana Grande wanting to get freaky with her lover. So far they've refrained from going all the way in their relationship, but Grande can't wait any longer; tonight she wants to get "nasty."

Ariana Grande first started dating her real estate mogul boyfriend, Dalton Gomez, in January 2020, and much of Positions is about their relationship. Grande first shared a snippet of this track on her Instagram on March 24, 2020, so it's likely this was inspired by her cravings towards her new romantic partner. It's one of several songs on the album where she expresses her sexual desires; others being "34+35," the title track and "Love Language."

Grande wrote the song with her close friend and long-term collaborator Victoria Monét. Other tunes they worked together on include "Thank U, Next" and "7 Rings."
