Canterbury Scene

The Canterbury Scene is a genre of progressive rock music that originated in the English city of Canterbury in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is characterized by its eclectic mix of jazz, folk, classical, and psychedelic influences, as well as its use of improvisation and extended instrumental passages. The genre is often associated with the bands Soft Machine, Caravan, and Hatfield and the North, as well as the solo work of Robert Wyatt and Kevin Ayers.
