Musique Ancienne

Musique Ancienne (or Early Music) is a genre of music that encompasses music composed and performed prior to the Classical period (generally before 1750). It includes music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras, as well as some music from the Classical period. It is typically performed on period instruments, such as lutes, viols, and harpsichords, and often features vocalists singing in Latin or other languages of the time.
