Chutney

Chutney is a genre of music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago in the late 19th century. It is a fusion of Indian and African musical styles, and is characterized by its use of Indian instruments such as the dholak, tabla, and harmonium, as well as African percussion instruments. The lyrics are usually in Hindi, Bhojpuri, or English, and the music is often accompanied by traditional Indian dance moves. Chutney music is popular in the Caribbean, and is often performed at weddings and other celebrations.
