The Finnish New Wave is a genre of music that emerged in the late 1970s and early 1980s in Finland. It is characterized by its use of synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic instruments, as well as its incorporation of elements from punk, new wave, and post-punk. The genre is often associated with the Finnish band Hanoi Rocks, who were one of the first bands to incorporate these elements into their sound. Other notable Finnish New Wave bands include The Leningrad Cowboys, The Flaming Sideburns, and The 69 Eyes.
