Umea Indie

Umea Indie is a genre of music that originated in the Swedish city of Umea in the late 1980s. It is characterized by its use of jangly guitars, melodic vocals, and a strong emphasis on DIY production. The genre is heavily influenced by punk and post-punk, as well as indie rock and alternative rock. Umea Indie is often associated with the Swedish indie label, Suburban Records, which was founded in Umea in 1989.
