Huapango

Huapango is a traditional Mexican folk music genre that originated in the state of Veracruz. It is characterized by its fast tempo and its use of the jarana, a small guitar-like instrument. The genre is often accompanied by a trio of musicians, consisting of a jaranero (jarana player), a violinist, and a harpist. The lyrics of Huapango songs often tell stories of love, loss, and the struggles of everyday life. The genre has been popularized by many famous Mexican singers, such as Lola Beltrán and Javier Solís.
