Canto A Tenore is a traditional polyphonic singing style from Sardinia, Italy. It is characterized by four male voices singing in harmony, with each voice taking a different part. The four voices are known as bassu, mesu oche, contra and boghe. The bassu is the lowest voice, the mesu oche is the highest voice, the contra is the middle voice, and the boghe is the lead voice. The singing is usually accompanied by a frame drum, and the lyrics are often improvised.
