Old School EBM

Old School EBM, short for Electronic Body Music, is a subgenre of electronic music that emerged in the early 1980s in Europe. Characterized by its heavy use of synthesizers, drum machines, and distorted vocals, Old School EBM is known for its aggressive and industrial sound. Influenced by punk, new wave, and industrial music, this genre often features repetitive beats, dark and dystopian lyrics, and a raw, gritty production style. Bands like Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and D.A.F. are considered pioneers of Old School EBM, and their music continues to be celebrated for its energetic and danceable yet dark and rebellious aesthetic.
