Buckcherry lead singer Josh Todd wrote this song about his wife, and "the sacrifice that this business puts on a relationship." Listening to this love song, it's hard to believe it came from the same folks who brought us "Lit Up" and "Crazy Bitch." It demonstrated a more sensitive side of the band, and became by far their biggest hit.
In an interview with radio station KNAC, Josh Todd was asked what, or who, was the inspiration for this song. Todd replied: "My wife. Just spending a long time away from her and the struggles of maintaining a relationship and being a music man, and all of that is really what 'Sorry' is about."
The Darren Doane-directed music video follows a couple's breakup and includes shots of the boyfriend surfing while the girlfriend cries in their loft. The surfing scenes were actually shot in the middle of winter.
