The word "jaded" is used to describe a feeling of being tired, bored, or lacking enthusiasm, often because of having had too much of something. This could refer to a person, activity, or situation. For example, someone who has been hurt multiple times in a romance might become jaded about love and relationships. On this breakup song, Miley Cyrus expresses regret and apologizes to an ex who is feeling "jaded" and lonely. She acknowledges her role in not guiding her former beau towards more positive experiences and is sorry about his present emotional state.

In the second verse, Miley calls out her former lover for not owning up to his role in their fractured relationship. Rather than addressing these issues, the ex-partner chose to escape by drinking excessively.

Cyrus recorded "Jaded" for Endless Summer Vacation. It's the second track on the album and follows "Flowers," which many fans believe is about her former husband, Liam Hemsworth. While "Flowers" is about Cyrus' need for self-love after their breakup, "Jaded" places more of an emphasis on her ex's feelings. However, there's no apparent evidence that Cyrus is addressing Hemsworth on this song.
