On "Perfect Celebrity," Lady Gaga takes the subject of fame - something she's made a career of dissecting - and digs the knife in just a little deeper. Gaga co-wrote and co-produced the song with the international team of Andrew Watt, Cirkut and Gesaffelstein. Andrew Watt is an American producer, songwriter, and musician. He has worked with a wide range of artists, including Post Malone, Justin Bieber, and The Rolling Stones. Cirkut, whose real name is Henry Walter, is a Canadian producer and songwriter. He has collaborated with numerous artists, including Katy Perry, Justin Timberlake, and The Weeknd. Gesaffelstein is a French DJ, songwriter, and record producer. He is known for his dark, industrial-tinged electronic music and has collaborated with artists like Kanye West and The Weeknd.

Musically, "Perfect Celebrity" pulls influences from the '90s, a time when Gaga fell headlong into her love for music. She recalled to Apple Music's Zane Lowe: "There's a lot of nineties energy in that song... We all shared that love in the studio, too."
