T-Bone Shuffle

According to Helen Oakley Dance in her biography of the legendary guitarist, "Possibly more than anyone else, T-Bone was responsible for the wave of popularity for the shuffle beat. His 'T-Bone Shuffle' and 'T-Bone Boogie' made him instantly recognizable." The downtempo "T-Bone Shuffle" was written by Walker, and recorded by him at Chicago in 1955. Walker was a star in the 1940s, and one of the first musicians with a wild stage act, which along with his guitar sound, was emulated by Chuck Berry.

Eddie Chamblee played the tenor saxophone on this track. Chamblee was a Chicago player who scored a local hit in 1948 with an instrumental called "Long Gone." He would later play in Lionel Hampton's band.
