Jess Glynne wrote this song with songwriter Janee "Jin Jin" Bennett whom she met during a music course at an East London college. Bennett is affiliated with Universal Music Publishing Group in the UK and co-penned several tracks for Glynne's debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, including the singles "Right Here" and "Hold My Hand" as well as the singer's second collaboration with Clean Bandit, "Real Love." She also co-penned the hit single "Drunk and Incapable" for Krishane featuring Melissa Steel.

The song was produced by sometime Ellie Goulding collaborator Starsmith and supplier of beats to Wretch 32, Knox Brown.
