Timucin Aluo is a London-based singer-songwriter and DJ, who records under the name of Jax Jones. He first came to the fore when he supplied guest vocals on Duke Dumont's UK chart-topping 2014 single "I Got U."
The song features guest vocals from Jones' fellow South Londoner Raye, who previously visited the UK singles chart when she sung on Jonas Blue's 2016 Top 20 hit "By Your Side." Raye also co-penned Charli XCX's "Hanging Around" single. "This track is so simple," said Jones. "It's just one of those that works better for not throwing the kitchen sink at it. At the end of the first day of writing with RAYE (a genius), Jin Jin (the other co-writer and another genius) and I (occasionally been called a genius - usually by my mum) just had a bassline and the song mapped out."
The song is a sassy kiss off to fake friends and hangers on: Don't act like you know me I am not your homie "The vocal was inspired by a lot of bashment and general bravado as we were having a lot of fun and feeling good that day in the studio," Jones said.
