Rather than bragging about having a plethora of women at his beck and call, as most rappers are prone to do, Juice WLRD outlines his heartbreak following repeated relationship failures. The song wasn't inspired by any particular girl, instead it's a sort of compilation of all the negatives Juice has experienced in relationships. He told POWER 92, Chicago: "I mean. you know, I would have had to have been through a lot to even come to the conclusion to make a statement that: 'all girls are the same.' Obviously all girls aren't the same, but if you're going through a repetitive heartbreak and stuff you're gonna think that. So that's pretty much how that came."

The instrumentation was supplied by frequent collaborator Nick Mira. "I'd say the number one important thing to me when I'm making a beat is always my melody," he told Genius regarding this song's production. "If I don't have my melody right or the actual musical components of the beat, then I just can't focus from there on out." "Always after my melodies, I go straight to my drums," he added.
