This collaboration by British-Ghanaian Afrobeat singer Fuse ODG with African producer Killbeatz and Ghanian female rapper Tiffany was initially released on YouTube in November 2011, scooping over a one million views in a matter weeks.
The song was inspired by a Ghanaian freestyle dance craze of the same name. Fuse ODG first saw the dance in the Ghanaian city of Tema while recording with Killbeatz. The tune brought the Azonto to an international audience, including the British Prime Minister David Cameron, who publicly gave it his support after meeting Fuse ODG. The single release went on to reach #8 in the iTunes international chart.
