Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Rule The World - Radio Edit. By Songfacts®.

"Rule The World" is featured in the film Stardust during the closing credits. The film's director Matthew Vaughan asked Take That if they would be interested in writing a song for the film. Gary Barlow recalled in The Daily Mail May 4, 2007: "We live near each other in London so I said: 'Come along to our place at 6 and I'll give you our answer.' Matthew came at 6 and in that time we'd composed and written a song. We played it for him and now it's going to be in the film."

In its debut week in the UK charts in October 2007, this song achieved the third highest one-week sales of 2007. However, as the highest selling single of the year at that stage - Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love" - was released the same week, "Rule The World" was prevented from entering the UK chart at #1.

This was the biggest seller of 2007 in the UK not to reach #1 on the singles chart.
