Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about To Lose My Life. By Songfacts®.

White Lies are a London trio consisting of Harry McVeigh (vocals / guitar), Charles Cave (bass) and Jack Brown (drums).

All the songs on the To Lose My Life… set deal with gloomy subject matter such as death and failed romance. McVeigh explained to the BBC Newsbeat program: "The album deals with darker themes because these issues connect with a lot of people and most people at some point in their life will have experienced those feelings."

McVeigh explained the band's name to The Sun newspaper December 26, 2008: "We named the band the same way most people would name a child. You can come up with hundreds of names but until you stare it in the eye, nothing seems right. Also, our music is a "white lie" gently protecting the upsetting truths in the lyrics."
