Written by Chicago's trombone player Jimmy Pankow and with lead vocals by Peter Cetera, this song is about a lonely man who gets a new lease on life by meeting an amazing woman who truly loves him.
This was Chicago's first hit after the death of guitarist Terry Kath, who accidentally shot himself on January 23, 1978. To mark a new era for the band, they broke tradition and did not name the album after the band. Hot Streets followed Chicago XI, but their next album picked up the old format and was titled Chicago 13.
