Interesting facts and trivia about Do It. By Songfacts®.

Chloe and Halle Bailey wrote this song about having fun and partying with their friends. Released on May 15, 2020 amid the coronavirus pandemic, their intention was to send an inspiring message amid difficult circumstances. "During this time, music brings a lot of healing," the sisters said in a press release: "We hope this song inspires someone to get up and dance, shake all the stress and anxiety away, and to 'Do It' as the song says. We felt so good writing a song that will make people wanna bop to it and lift their spirits."

Chloe and Halle Bailey wrote the song with: Ariana Grande's longtime co-writer Victoria Monét. Their collaborations include the hot singles "Thank U, Next" and "7 Rings." Producer Scott Storch, who helmed a number of hits in the 2000s including Chris Brown's "Run It!," Mario's "Let Me Love You" and Beyonce's "Baby Boy." Dutch songwriter and record producer Avedon (birth name Vincent van den Ende), who works closely with Scott Storch. Tracks they produced together include 6ix9ine's "Kika" and Chris Brown's "Undecided." Anton Kühl-Jørgensen, whose served as an additional producer on Demi Lovato's "You Don't Do It For Me."

Chloe recalled to Apple Music that when she and her sister were creating the song with Victoria Monét and Scott Storch, they "were just vibing out and feeling good." She added that they never set out to write a hit song as that stifles their creativity. Instead, they "were just all having fun and vibing out, and we were just going to throw whatever to the wall and see what sticks." About a fortnight after penning "Do It," the sisters listened back to it and thought, "Uh-oh, we're really kind of feeling this. It feels really, really good." So they made it the lead single from Ungodly Hour.
