Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Crystallise. By Songfacts®.

After Jax Jones married his wife in Thailand in 2017 the pair was delighted when she fell pregnant. Tragically, she miscarried; during this sad banger Jones discusses their experience of losing their baby. He released the song as the second single from his Deep Joy EP.

Despite the personal stuff in the lyrics, the song has an anthemic vibe with a stuttering beat. According to Jones this is because the song is also about the joy of the dance floor. He explained: "I believe dancing is the perfect antidote to sadness, so that's why the drop on this song is so crazy. I wanted to make the sickest switch up in a song to help you snap out of the sad times and go crazy on the dance floor. That's what deep joy is all about."

Happily, Jones announced on his Instagram on September 18, 2020 that his wife had given birth to their daughter, Lawana. Their baby girl's name means "beautiful" in Thai.
