Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Judas Rising. By Songfacts®.

Judas Priest lead singer Rob Halford said of this song: "I just like that expression. But it could be taken in both contexts. To me it's about the angel coming out of that 'Sad Wings of Destiny' artwork environment, where it was a very despondent, very doomy type of oppressive world, and now suddenly it's back in its full majesty and glory and it's overcome the odds and it's full of optimism and energy."

The Angel Of Retribution album marked Rob Halford's return to Judas Priest. He left the band in the mid-'90s to work on other projects and was replaced by Tim "Ripper" Owens, with whom the band recorded two albums. The album cover depicts a heavy metal guardian angel.
