This throbbing tune finds the Little Mix quartet warning the men in their lives of the consequences if they start straying. You know I'll been watching you 'Cause she the baddest thing to ever happen to ya And that's the truth Don't make me have to hurt ya 'Cause I know right now we're cool But If I ever hear your mess this up I'm comin' after you Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock told Billboard they were "really pumped" as they'd been looking for a long time to pen "a song that's a message to our boyfriends: Treat my girl right otherwise I'm coming for you!"
"Treat Me Right" samples Sisqo's "Thong Song," repurposing it into a warning to a lover. Pinnock explained: "We twisted the [original] song from being about women in thongs to a positive girl-power anthem, so we're proud of that."
The song was helmed by English producer Chris Loco, who also collaborated with the girls on the LM5 tracks "Strip" and "Monster In Me." His other credits include Raleigh Ritchie's "Stronger Than Ever" Emeli Sandé's "Garden" and Rita Ora's "Shine Ya Light."
