This lighthearted tune about spontaneous romance was one of a bunch of songs written by Morgan Evans with Chris DeStefano (Luke Bryan's "That's My Kind of Night," Carrie Underwood's "Something in the Water") after they met at a writing camp in Australia. Josh Osbourne (Kenny Chesney's "Come Over," Sam Hunt's "Body Like a Back Road") also contributed to the writing of the tune.
Released on July 21, 2017 as the lead single from Evans' second studio album in his native Australia, "Kiss Somebody" peaked at #53 on the ARIA Singles Chart. Nine months later, it won the award for Country Work of the Year at the APRA Music Awards.
The song was Evans' first single to be released to country radio in the United States, following the signing of his record deal with Warner Music Nashville.
