This bittersweet song finds the heartbroken Griff trying to fill the void inside after her boyfriend unexpectedly walked out. There's a big black hole where my heart used to be And I tried my best to fill it up with things I don't need It don't work like that, no, it's not easy To fill this gap that you left in me
Griff wrote "Black Hole" with Frederik Eichen (Rita Ora & Imanbek's "The One") and the track's producer, Peter "Lostboy" Rycroft (Tom Grennan's "Little Bit Of Love"). They penned it during Griff's last studio session before the March 2020 COVID lockdown.
Though the song finds Griff brokenhearted, her overdramatic lyrical content and Lostboy's bouncy production sweetens the pill. "The melodrama of the lyrics - over a really interesting beat - keeps the song fun, and not too serious," she said.
