Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Bright Lights (Good Life) Part II. By Songfacts®.

This sentimental track finds Tinchy rapping about dealing with his newfound fame and popularity and admitting he almost lost focus on his goals. It was released as the third single from Stryder's fourth album, Full Tank on March 4, 2012.

The song features British singer-songwriter Pixie Lott. The collaboration between the pair came about after they met at the 2011 Brit Awards ceremony, and after developing a friendship, decided to record a song together. Tinchy told Zoo magazine: "When I featured her name on my last single with Dappy, I thought it would be cool to go the whole way and do a song with her."

Stryder and Lott came up with the idea of a story that could be told from both the female and male perspective. This version takes the male perspective and the pair wrote it in collaboration with producer and songwriter Jarrad "Jaz" Rogers. The same trio also penned the female perspective version, titled "Bright Lights (Good Life) Part II," which was released on Lott's album, Young Foolish Happy.

So which version is the sequel? Though Lott's track was labelled 'Part II,' it was actually released as part of Young Foolish Happy on November 11, 2011, nearly three months before Part I was made available. Confused? We certainly are!
