Elton wrote this for the 2005 stage production of Billy Elliot, which was based on the 2000 movie. Elton wrote the score for the play.

This song benefited from some clever marketing. Over 75% of the sales were downloads, thanks to an Elton John competition where fans sent text message their answers and received a download of the track, which counted towards the song's chart position.

Elton's 1971 song "Indian Sunset," which was sampled on 2Pac's "Ghetto Gospel," was released as the B-side.
