Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about MetaGoth. By Songfacts®.

The lyrics to this song were written by Breeders bassist Josephine Wiggs. She explained to Uncut: "I was a goth in the original days. We used to go down to the local pub in Baldock on a Saturday night and I would be wearing a Dracula cape I'd made it had a red silk lining."

Breeders frontwoman Kim Deal and drummer James McPherson came up with the riff while jamming on "Wait In The Car," but soon realized it could stand on its own. When they got round to recording the tune, Deal switched to bass and let Wiggs take the lead. "The next time I showed up to rehearsal," recalled Wiggs to Uncut, "Kim was like, 'I'm playing bass on this one,' handed me this guitar and said, here you play something."
