The Australian singer points out that these are unjustified stereotypes. Instead, these "kids" are committed to tackling important issues such as racism and climate change. The youth are united in their shared beliefs, pushing for change through peaceful means and community rather than fighting with guns. These kids are "a force to be reckoned with."
"The Kids Are Coming" is the title track of Tones and I's debut EP, which was released on August 30, 2019. The EP won the prize for Best Independent Release at the 2019 ARIA Music Awards.
The song is the only track on the EP solely written and produced by Tones and I. The other cuts were produced by Konstantin Kersting.
