"Falling Back" is an introspective track where Drake muses on a one-sided relationship. Drake released "Falling Back" as the first single from Honestly, Nevermind, dropping the video on the same day as the album's release. The record finds the OVO hitmaker singing and rapping his rhymes over dance-based beats.

The song features a fast-paced house instrumental courtesy of producers &ME and Rampa. Part of Berlin-based group, Keinemusik, they also collaborated on another Honestly, Nevermind track, "A Keeper."
