First Kill

This song sets up the concept of Amon Amarth's album Jomsviking, which tells the story of a man who goes on the run after committing murder. He joins a group of mercenaries called the Jomsvikings, which sets in motion a series of brutal events. In "First Kill," he commits his crime and becomes an outlaw.

The video was done by the Polish director Dariusz Szermanowicz, who has done a lot of work with the group Behemoth and also worked on the Amon Amarth clips for "Twilight of the Thunder God" and "Guardians of Asgaard." "It was cool to have that big set-up, with that big stage and the dragon head," Amon Amarth frontman Johan Hegg said in his Songfacts interview. "I'm really happy with how it came out."
