Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Go Right Ahead. By Songfacts®.

News detailing Swedish rock group, The Hives', fifth studio album Lex Hives was announced on March 12, 2012. The record is composed of twelve self-produced tracks, with a deluxe version containing bonus songs produced by Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. This is the first single to be released from the album, and it was made available for public streaming alongside the announcement.

Drummer Chris Dangerous told the music industry magazine FMQB about this track: "That's one of the songs that we worked on for quite a while actually," he said. "We all loved it and we felt at a very early stage that it was going to be the first single. You've heard the lyrics; it's a classic Hives theme, about going out and having a great a time as you can."

The music video shows The Hives with additional live members performing the song inside Riksmixningsverket studios, which is owned by Abba's Benny Andersson. Did you spot the ninja? That's a mask clad Randy Fitzsimmons, whom can be seen through the studio window watching the group perform the song. He is the supposed sixth member of The Hives and apparently writes the songs and manages the band, while never being seen in public. This was the first instance of a bodily figure representing Fitzsimmons ever appearing on camera.
