Guitarist Jez Williams said on their record label's website that this song was influenced lyrically by the fact that "A lot of cities in the North West (of England) have gone through radical changes - Manchester over the last eight years, Liverpool in the last couple." He went on to say that "some of the most important, historical buildings have had their hearts ripped out, replaced by temporary pacemakers."
This has been extensively on British TV as a soundtrack during various sporting events, particularly by the BBC during their coverage of international rugby.
