"2000 Excursion" is a hazy, intermittently guitar-laced trap tune from Travis Scott's collaborative project Jackboys 2. It features contributions from his Cactus Jack running mates Sheck Wes and Don Toliver.

The titular 2000 Ford Excursion gets its flowers in the intro, a celebratory spoken-word passage between Sheck Wes and Scott that plays more like a toast at a car club reunion than a traditional rap opening. The message is clear: when you finally get the keys to your own overcompensating land yacht, life begins.

Travis Scott takes the first verse, floating across the beat in that narcotic monotone that somehow conveys both detachment and intensity. He weaves references to codeine, cash, and a friend's Spanish girlfriend, painting a blurry picture of excess. Sheck Wes arrives next with a boastful verse about romantic entanglements while namedropping European football royalty. Don Toliver slides in on the third verse, and the mood shifts like someone dimmed the lights and threw on a lavender candle. He delivers a moody, late-night narrative that captures the feeling of anticipation and fleeting connections. Scott returns for a fourth verse that's almost tender, lamenting a breakup in Auto-Tuned half-cries. For a guy cruising in a tank-sized SUV, he sounds remarkably unprotected.
