In this rock ballad, Chad Kroeger is proclaiming his total and utter commitment to someone - apparently his lover. He cries that he'll fight for her, lie for her and die for her. Like many of Nickelback's songs, the title sounds like it could be dirty (other examples: "Something In Your Mouth," "She Keeps Me Up"), but this one seems fairly innocent.
The video was directed by Nigel Dick, who did the Tears For Fears "Head Over Heels" clip and also many for Britney Spears. The Nickelback video presents an unexpected interpretation of the song, as a teenaged girl blows off dinner at home with dad for a ride with her boyfriend. When he tries to rape her, she texts her father, who shows up to give the guy a beating. It was shot in North Vancouver, with Don Broatch playing the dad.
