"Coming For You" was first previewed on Radio Contraband on January 30th, 2015 and then posted onto Youtube and made available for digital download on the same day.
The song is The Offspring's first original release since 2012's Days Go By album, excluding the covers EP Summer Nationals released in 2014, which featured them covering Pennywise and ex-labelmates Bad Religion's songs. The Summer Nationals tour itself featured the band playing alongside these two bands, as well as Naked Raygun, Stiff Little Fingers and the Vandals.
Upon release, it was unclear if the single would be a one-off or a lead single for an upcoming album, but a tweet from Dexter Holland himself on the official Offspring Twitter page seems to hint at the former, due to the album being in an incomplete state: "We can't wait to get another album out as soon as we have enough songs" was his official quote. Whether "Coming For You" will feature on this album is unclear.
