Chris Lane ran his proposal plans by Brad Paisley when they were touring together. The "Remind Me" singer admitted to People that he advised against it. "I had some friends on the [tour] bus, and they were all like, 'That sounds pretty awesome,'" Paisley recalled. "And I'm like, 'Don't do that.'" "I'm glad he didn't listen to me, because it worked out great," he added.
