This song introduces to the mainstream classically trained English vocalist Jorja Smith, who sings about getting it together with her lover. Drake joins her on the chorus. West Midlander Jorja Smith also appears on preceding track, "Jorja Interlude." The teenage songstress first came to Drake's attention with her 2016 tune "Blue Lights," a song about police injustice that sampled rapper Dizzee Rascal. She supported him at his February 2017 Birmingham show, after which Drake made headlines by visiting Smith in her hometown of Walsall and accompanying her on a trip to the local shop for sweets.
Many suspect that the song alludes to Drake's rumoured fling with Jennifer Lopez. The Latino superstar was expected to feature on the track after the pair had teased fans about the collaboration in an Instagram video of the pair dancing together in December 2016, when a snippet of the tune could be heard in the background. However, it appears J.Lo's vocals were replaced by those of Jorja Smith.
Lopez isn't entirely absent from More Life. Drake raps about drunk texting her on "Free Smoke" and "Teenage Fever" samples her hit "If You Had My Love."
