Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about Crucified. By Songfacts®.

This track is about a relationship that singer David Draiman was in that fell apart and the desperation he fell into in the aftermath of the breakup. He explained: "Another relationship one about how you are left feeling after again, a breakup. Where you find yourself so wrapped up in the individual that you can't really let them go, and you feel as if you're nailed to the cross and unable to move on."

This was the third song Draiman wrote for the album, following "Asylum" and "The Infection" - all dark tracks that got his bandmates so concerned they checked in on him to make sure he was OK. The singer admitted he was struggling but that the songs helped him face, and ultimately exorcise, his demons.

Asylum is the band's fifth studio album. Released in 2010, it also marked the 10-year anniversary of their first album, The Sickness. Aside from releasing an anniversary edition of their debut, they celebrated their longevity by including a documentary DVD, Decade Of Disturbed, as a free gift with the purchase of Asylum.
