Did You Know?

Interesting facts and trivia about The Man I Killed. By Songfacts®.

In this song, lead singer Fat Mike imagines killing US president George W. Bush. As he is about to die on death row, he has no remorse, but learns that his killing the president was set up by the vice president so he could take power.

George W. Bush is not mentioned in the song by name, as threatening to kill the president is a federal offense. Fat Mike never tried to kill Bush, but he did everything in his power to get him elected out of office in 2004. Mike set up punkvoter.com for the express purpose of rallying support against Bush and getting fans to register to vote so they could cast their ballots against him. Bush won that election, but NOFX didn't stop attacking him musically.
