Logic was born to a crack cocaine-addicted African-American father and a Caucasian mother. Here, he speaks about his difficult childhood and mixed race background discussing how it made him become the person he is today. He told Genius: "This one is like, 'I am myself' on 'Take it Back' it's 'This is me and this is who I am and you might not like this story, straight up.' It is about what I have heard. This is this much of what people have told me or said to me. It's like 'You aren't black. You are black. You're here. You're there. You're this or that.'"
