Frontman Ben Barlow explained the song's meaning to Kerrang: "It's a song about wanderlust, the desire to travel, see the world and change your life in a profound way - something I felt very strongly growing up and still do now. There is a love element to the song, too, because if you can experience things with someone special that's even better."
The song originally had the working title of "Britpop," because, Ben Barlow explained, "It had that feel to it, initially. We wanted it to have a massive festival feel."
