"I Don't Know About You" is a romantic slow jam where Chris Lane sings of falling hard for a woman he's just met at a bar. He buys the girl her favorite - Bud Light beer - then tries to get to know her better. What's your dream job? Girl, where's your hometown, yeah? What makes your world spin round and around Are you down to get out of here too? Tell me everything 'til there's nothing I don't know about you Lane lists everything he needs to know about the woman; he asks her not to hold anything back.

The love song was written by: Ashley Gorley, whose resumé includes hits by Luke Bryan ("That's My Kind of Night"), Thomas Rhett ("T-Shirt") and Jon Pardi ("Dirt on My Boots ") Frequent Florida Georgia Line collaborator Michael Hardy ("Talk You Out of It," "Simple," "Up Down"). Hunter Phelps and Jameson Rodgers, who also co-wrote "Talk You Out of It."

Though musically this is similar to Laps Around The Sun's lead single "Take Back Home Girl," Lane was still keen to record the track. "Instrumentation-wise, it's kind of like a cousin song to 'Take Back Home Girl,'" the singer explained to ABC Audio. "Lyric-wise - not necessarily. But I feel like it's got one of the strongest hooks on the record in the chorus... [That's] what I fell in love with."
