The lyrics are full of complicated love in which Del Rey sings about her bad-boy beau with a history of violence and also shout outs famous Los Angeles boulevards Wilshire and Pico.
Del Rey premiered the track on her Endless Summer Tour during her June 15, 2015 show at West Palm Beach, Florida. The single was released on July 14, 2015.
