For most musicologists, the phrase "a girl like you" will probably conjure up a vision of the slightly off-beat hit single by Edwyn Collins, but there is an entirely different song recorded a quarter of a century earlier that is just as quirky. The Misunderstood were a short-lived band from the West Coast of America, and "Never Had A Girl (Like You Before)" was pure psychedelia. Co-written by band members Glenn "Fernando" Campbell and Steve Hoard, it was released on the Fontana label backed by "Golden Glass." It was their last single before they broke up.
