Tech N9ne raps here about artists like him are producing "gleaming" music, but aren't making much money (cake) because of the policies of streaming services such as YouTube and Spotify. This music is gleamin', but because all of the streamin' will never reach cake Tech told Billboard magazine he is more optimistic about the future of streaming services than he was when he penned the song as he believes they are going in a positive direction. "People are paying for it and they're going to keep paying for it," he said. "The industry is going to flourish for artists. I have [lyrics about it] on this album because everybody was getting that streaming service for free. Now, people are paying and they're getting more and more subscribers."
