Zombie Nation is German DJ and producer Florian Senfter, who goes by the alias of "Spank" and until 1999 Emanuel Guenther (aka Mooner). The first Zombie Nation release was an EP, which contained this electronic dance classic. The song proved very popular, charting high all around the world.
The song's title is German for "Atomic Energy 400." Senfter told USA Today that if he knew it would be so popular, "I would have chosen a friendlier name."
The song's hook came from a tune that was originally part of a 1984 Commodore 64 game called Lazy Jones. The man behind the original song was David Whittaker, who wrote many of the tunes that can be heard in 1980's and early '90s computer games.
